Welcome to ternandmeridian.com (the "Site"). The Site, along with The Field Journal newsletter, the Tern & Meridian Substack, our social media pages, inquiry forms, and email communications (together, the "Services"), is owned and operated by Tern & Meridian, a bespoke travel advisory owned by Piper Eskridge and affiliated with Christopherson Andavo Travel ("Tern & Meridian," "we," "us," or "our").
By visiting or using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using the Services. Clients who book travel with Tern & Meridian are also bound by our separate Terms and Conditions.
Who May Use the Site
The Services are intended for adults 18 years of age or older. By using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 and able to agree to these terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, so please share information about minors only as part of planning a trip on their behalf, such as names and dates of birth needed for bookings.
Inspiration and Information
The itineraries, destination guides, packing lists, stories, and recommendations shared through the Services are meant to inspire and inform. Sample itineraries such as our Featured Journeys are illustrations of what is possible; final routes, pricing, and availability are confirmed only during personal planning.
Travel information changes often, and entry requirements, safety conditions, prices, and Supplier details may have shifted since a piece was written. Please confirm anything important before relying on it. Tern & Meridian becomes your travel advisor once you pay the planning fee and agree to our Terms and Conditions; until then, content on the Services is general information rather than personalized advice.
Our Content and Brand
Everything created for the Services, including writing, itineraries, photographs, hand-drawn illustrations, maps, graphics, newsletter designs, and the Tern & Meridian name, logo, and compass-and-tern mark, belongs to Tern & Meridian or is used with permission from its owners. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of the United States and other countries.
You are welcome to view, share links to, and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please ask for written permission before copying, republishing, selling, or adapting any content, or before using our name or logo. Some photographs are provided by Suppliers and partners and remain their property.
Your Submissions and Use of the Site
Information you share. When you complete an inquiry form, subscribe to a newsletter, or contact us, you agree to provide accurate information. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
Comments, reviews, and photos. If you share a comment, testimonial, review, or travel photo with Tern & Meridian, you confirm that you give us the right to share it. You also give us permission to display it on the Services and in our marketing, with your first name or initials unless you ask otherwise. You may ask us to remove it at any time.
Respectful use. Please use the Services lawfully and respectfully. You agree to refrain from interfering with the Site's operation, attempting to access areas or data you are unauthorized to reach, sending spam or harmful code, scraping content, or impersonating anyone. We may limit or end access for anyone who misuses the Services.
Links to Other Sites
The Services link to outside websites and platforms, including Substack, social media, hotels, lodges, tour operators, conservation organizations, and other Suppliers and partners. These sites are owned and operated by others, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them. Tern & Meridian is not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of outside sites, or for any loss arising from your use of them. A link reflects a recommendation of an experience, and bookings and purchases made directly with outside companies are between you and that company.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Provided as is. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tern & Meridian disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We work hard to keep content accurate and the Site running smoothly, and we cannot guarantee that the Services will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tern & Meridian, its advisor, host agency, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services or any outside site linked from them. This includes lost profits, lost data, and decisions made based on content from the Services. Some states limit these exclusions, and in those states our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.
Indemnity. You agree to hold Tern & Meridian harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Services or your violation of these terms.
Changes, Governing Law, and Contact
Changes to these terms. We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updates take effect when posted on this page, and continuing to use the Services means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and venue. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from your use of the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dawson County, Georgia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be replaced with an enforceable provision closest to its intent, and the remaining terms stay in full effect.
Entire agreement. These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and, for clients, our Terms and Conditions, make up the full agreement between you and Tern & Meridian regarding the Services.

Advertising and Compensation Disclosure
In the spirit of transparency, here is how Tern & Meridian is compensated.
Supplier commissions. Like most travel advisors, Tern & Meridian earns commissions from many hotels, lodges, cruise and expedition lines, and tour operators when clients book with them. These commissions are paid by the Supplier and are separate from your planning and design fees.
Affiliate links. Some links on the Services, such as links to travel gear, books, or insurance providers, may be affiliate links. If you purchase through them, Tern & Meridian may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Hosted experiences. From time to time, Suppliers or tourism boards may host me on a property visit or familiarization trip so I can evaluate it firsthand. Content based on a hosted experience will say so.
Every recommendation reflects my honest opinion and genuine experience, and I recommend only the places, partners, and products I would choose for my own travels. Compensation never determines what I recommend to clients. Please confirm details such as pricing and inclusions directly with the Supplier, as they may change.
